EzParts is designed as an intuitive parts service and repair lookup
system. Finding important resources, schematics and parts is as simple as
navigating to the correct model in the EzParts tree control or pressing F3
for search. The visual interface removes any requirement of remembering
keystrokes or commands, although all features are available using hot keys. All functions respond to hot-keys for advanced
users and are also available by clicking the appropriate icons with the
mouse. The same interface is supported both on CD and Web based
distributions to minimize the learning curve. Users can migrate from one
medium to another without having to re-learn steps or procedures. EzParts
viewer immediately turns a non-skilled, non-technical person into a valuable
resource.

EzParts content management is designed specifically for parts and service.
Parts and service content management is unlike other type of content management.
Implementing the proper software to meet the needs of your parts and service
knowledgebase is critical. Communicating complex relationships of equipment,
parts, schematics, training manuals, video, marketing materials with an eye
on maximizing user efficiency, increasing parts profitability and building stronger

Scaleable and Secure
EzParts incorporates the latest technology advances ensuring that as your
company's needs change your knowledgebase can adapt and grow. Knowledge
bases can span multiple CD Sets or be accessed over the Internet. A
knowledge base that comprises 1 CD or 10 can be easily accommodated by the
EzParts viewer software. When spanning multiple CD's the user is prompted
to insert the appropriate disk as required. Users can also install or copy
Multiple data CD's disk to network servers or utilize CD Server Banks.
Fully scalable, EzParts allows each user the flexibility to install the
software in a fashion that is best suited to their environment. In addition
with the recent growth of the Internet, it is quickly becoming the
distribution solution of choice in many industries. EzParts lets you
implement one or both the CD and Web distribution methods as you require.
Inclusion of the Web controls on any HTML web page allows you to extend the
functionality of your existing web site quickly and easily without any
advanced programming or development required. The exact same knowledgebase
is used to drive both the CD distribution and the Inter/intra-net.

In Depth Search
The key to EzParts functionality is the tightly integrated, open
architecture knowledgebase that is developed using the EzData Product.
Complex data hierarchies and inter-relationships are exposed using the
EzParts viewer. Users can press F3 or click the appropriate icon to search
for a wealth of parts, service, repair and technical knowledge. With one
click the user can position to a schematic showing the appropriate parts
callouts, play an instructional audio or video recording and view advanced
technical specifications and/or instructions contained in Documents, PDFs,
PowerPoint Presentations, slideshows HTML or 3D Modeling formats, even print
or fax the search results for later reference. The EzParts viewer is
virtually without limitations and recognizes 1000's of file formats and
types, displaying each appropriately. In addition the viewer can also
access links to external resources and web sites that reside on the Internet
and may not be in your immediate or direct control.
Full-Text Search
Web and CD based search capability can be greatly enhanced with the built
in full text search extensions. Users can actually search inside resources
like PDF's and return results based on the file contents!
Where-Used Functionality
In addition, with one click, users can find out where a particular part
or group of parts is used on every equipment model in the database or only
on the currently selected model. And by clicking on the displayed
where-used results, the user can view the related schematic and parts
callouts in full color on screen or print or fax the where used results for
later reference
Super-Sessions
Superseded and replaced parts are easily identified by the color-coding
on all parts related information. Right clicking on a superseded part
displays the current or replacement part number and allows the user to
immediately search for the new part and obtain any relevant information.
EzParts allows the user to drag and drop parts from the parts list or
schematic ( covered under section OLE Friendly below ) When a superseded
part is dragged from the parts list or schematic EzParts automatically
substitutes the correct or replacement part number. This prevents mistakes
when orders are being placed or reference is made to an older part.
Remanufactured Parts
Dynamically generate Remanufactured parts and pricing information in your Bill of Materials. Your entire knowledgebase is updated when you update your remanufactured parts listing. Many remanufactured parts programs do not get enough promotion, and bill of materials often do not contain
"reman" replacement parts information. EzParts gives your "reman" program a boost by putting remanufactured parts information in
front to the user on the bill of material, automatically.
Serialized Data
All resources and parts in you knowledgebase can be associated with Series, Model, Build and Serial Number ranges. Serial searches automatically display the
correct content to the user. the user no longer needs to call parts and service to determine what part goes on what machine.
Multi-Tiered Cost and Sell Pricing
EzParts maintains UNLIMITED price tiers. You can maintain as many pricing variations as required and display multiple or a varying number of price columns by user or dealer code. Each user sees only what belongs to him and exactly what they need to see. If Joe needs one price column and Jane requires three price columns, EzParts content management provides you the
flexibility you need.
OEM Notes
Original Equipment Manufacturer notes can be applied to any model,
schematic, part (global part note) or schematic and part pair (schematic
specific part note.) Notes are automatically displayed by the EzParts Viewer
when navigating the in the knowledgebase when a user selects a schematic or
part. In addition notes can be labeled as Priority Notes requiring the
user to click ok, acknowledging that they have read and or reviewed the
priority notes related to the schematic or part hat is currently active or
selected. Notes can consist of full color text and graphics. Notes are
stored in HTML format and can link to any type of resource within the
knowledgebase or to external Internet and intra-net resources. This includes
the 1000's of data formats that can be contained in the knowledgebase. The
extended link functionality of notes provides an addition level of
navigation and ensures that users will always be presented with late
changing or important information and in addition, that they can navigate to
any related or imperative information with one click. The notes can link to
audio, video, 3D resources as well as PDFs spreadsheets and more. The
ability to embed graphics within notes provides an often needed level of
additional detail that can be utilized to explain or show important concepts
or repair steps graphically.
Embedded Notes Linking
EzParts capabilities include the ability to embed links inside contextual
information that allow user to click and
jump to a specific resource, or even a specific callout on a schematic from
anywhere in your database. This capability extends the deep linking functionality
within the content management system and makes referencing related materials more efficient.
Where-Used Functionality
OEM Notes Classifications and Templates
OEM notes can be classified as Marketing Notes, Service Notes, Training Notes or any other custom
category you require. You can define categories and templates as well as assign default note graphics.
Dealer and User Notes
Dealers and users also have the ability to create and maintain
comprehensive repair and service notes. Like OEM notes they can be attached
to any model, schematic, part (global part note) or schematic and part
pair (schematic specific part note.) Notes are preserved at each
knowledgebase installation (when distributed on CD) and are never
overwritten by knowledgebase updates, preventing the loss of data. In
addition Dealer and User notes can even be sent up to the OEM and
incorporated into the knowledgebase for distribution. This provides a level
of collaboration that allows both dealers and the OEM to share knowledge.
Advanced Resource and Information Sharing - Open Architecture and
Export Capability
Advance options and functionality built into the EzParts Viewer make it
simple to share information with both dealers and end users. Schematics,
parts lists, resources and notes can be printed, faxed and e-mailed with a
single mouse click. By taking advantage of advanced send to and e-mail
functionality EzParts Viewer utilizes cost saving technology that affects
everyone's ROI. Information contained in the knowledgebase can be exported
using send to functionality. Storing schematics and parts listings to disk
or desktop creates GIF and JPEG and HTML files that are readily viewable by
external applications.
OLE Drag and Drop
The EzParts Viewer is the most advanced knowledgebase search and display
application available today and is highly integrated with the Windows®
Operating System. Support for advanced functionality like OLE drag and drop
have been built into the software. This means that integration with Windows
based applications is built in and does not require special programming.
Automatically drop parts on external applications, purchase order forms,
sales orders, web pages, and applications like Microsoft's Word and Excel.
Integrated Call Tracking
Customer Service and Technicians can record calls and service issues while using EzParts.
Integrated call tracking assists Technical Services managers in finding out where service
personnel are spending their time and where customers are having trouble.
In depth call tracking logs can be used to generate reports, increase the quality of machines and customer service!.
User Specific Logins
Both the CD and web can utilize User specific login names and passwords. With this functionality you can actually control what every user has access to when they login to EzParts on the WEB or CD. In addition you can use the Extended pricing model and display
up to 21 cost and or price columns to the user.
Pick List and Order Creation
Users can easily create parts and pick lists, even orders. Built in transaction capability manages all aspects of pick list and order creation. Lists and orders can even be printed, faxed or emailed with the click of a button.
