E-COMMERCE

All EzParts parts catalog server Applications are delivered eCommerce capable. Systems Online works with manufacturers to understand their eCommerce requirements and develop the appropriate implementation and deployment strategy.

Not only can eCommerce functionality be enabled/disabled for specific users or groups, but application wrappers can process EACH ORDER differently depending on the identity and origin of the user.

This means that one EzParts parts catalog Server Application serving your parts and service data can insert purchase orders for web Users 'X', 'Y' and Z directly into the manufacturer's business system and simultaneously process User 'W's parts order in a completely different manner; including retuning the "cart" to a third party procurement management system similar to and including Ariba or other punch-out capable system (for example: Oracle Apps.)

EzParts Web Server application is data extraction capable. This means that in real time the cart can extract data directly from the manufacturer's business system. This data may include but is not limited to parts pricing and availability information, Bill To and Ship To records as well as additional essential order processing data required by the user at item selection or checkout time. This allows the eCommerce user the ability to configure each cart order according to their needs. EzParts Web Server application can retrieve data that is stored in the manufacturer's business system reducing keyed entry requirements at checkout time and eliminating the need for data to be stored and maintained in multiple systems.

Multiple order types can be defined with rule sets that allow calculations, fees, line charges, ship to address and cart handling function overrides. Examples of cart checkout rules that have been applied by various manufacturers include the examples below:
  • Manufacturer allows Emergency Orders to be shipped to any address via any carrier as the dealer will pay freight.
  • Standard or Stock Orders may be shipped only to the pre-authorized shipping addresses via a limited number of freight carriers. Manufacturer pays freight.
  • Expedited Stock Orders require a minimum sale amount or quantity of line items for processing.
  • Standard Stock Orders greater a specific sale amount are eligible for shipment via "premium" freight carriers. Manufacturer pays freight.

Examples of PARTS related rules include the examples below:
  • Allow only parts currently active in the manufacturer's business system to be ordered.
  • Allow any part to be ordered. If the part number does not exist request a description of the part from the user. Do not insert these parts into the manufacturer's business system at the time of processing the order. At the time of processing send a notification with the list of invalid requested parts and descriptions to the Service Parts Manager for review and response.

EzParts parts catalog provides optional confirmation emails at the time the data is stored in the cart and/or after order processing. A link to the cart order can be included in the notifications along with required text or processing results.

EzParts eCommerce capabilities provide unparallel integration with third party back end systems. The open architecture design of the shopping cart application empowers manufacturers giving them the ability to determine their implementation strategy. Systems Online's integration specialists can integrate with virtually any third party system. All that is required is ODBC connectivity to the back end system. The eCommerce modules revolutionary core design dramatically reduces implementation related expenses and provides faster implementation times.

Items can be added to the cart directly from the BOM or from part search results. Multiple carts, persistent and non-persistent cart types are all supported.

Manufacturers have the option of enabling "Dealer Administrator" accounts for each of their dealers. This allows the dealers to control their employee's access to the parts and service data and eCommerce capabilities. Dealer administrators can only grant or deny access to resources based on their group settings. A Dealer Administrator could not grant access to access resources that were "denied" for the specified group to which the Dealer Administrator belonged.

EzParts parts catalog is the choice of manufacturers where functionality is important.
